Novera at anchor

Design pedigree, dimensions, and cruising configuration for the boat that carries our passages. Builder, rig, draft, and displacement are set out here as a working reference.

Equipment and layout

Systems aboard Novera

Navigation instruments, sails, and safety gear are the working core of the boat. The chart plotter and instrument display handle routing, the sail inventory covers the main and headsails, and the liferaft, EPIRB, and jacklines are kept ready at the companionway. Tankage capacities for fuel and water set the range between replenishments. The tender is stowed for anchorage work, and the liveaboard layout arranges the saloon, galley, and sleeping berths around daily life at sea.

Equipment changes are logged as they happen, so the inventory here reflects the boat as it is sailed today rather than as it left the builder.

Life at sea

How Novera handles the water

In coastal chop the boat stays settled when the sail plan is balanced, and the motion is steady enough to keep the galley working. Heavy weather tests the rig and the cockpit, and we have learned where the boat is happiest reefed down. Offshore, the qualities that suit our journey are the ones we notice most: a predictable helm, comfortable motion over long passages, and a layout that holds up through many days aboard.

These are firsthand observations from our own passages, not a manufacturer's claims.
