A marker on a map answers one question: where are we? It does not tell you what the approach looked like, whether we stayed in a marina or anchored nearby, or what we noticed once we were settled. That is why we keep the tracker alongside the logbook, photos, and videos.
Start With Where We Are
The tracker is the quickest way to check our current whereabouts, when it has been updated. It gives a useful point of reference, but it is not a live conversation from the boat. We update it when we can, then add more context through posts and images.
Follow the Place Into the Log
A marina or anchorage map helps connect a location to the rest of the journey. The blog post can fill in what a pin cannot: how we approached the stop, what we did there, and what we want to remember about it. We keep those details tied to our own visit rather than treating one account as a guide to every sailor’s experience.
Photos Add Another Layer
Photos and video catch details that are easy to leave out of a written update, from the view over the cockpit to a small job aboard. The social links make it easier to find those moments, while the blog keeps the longer notes and map context together. If the tracker has not moved recently, check the latest post or social update for the next piece of the story.
